i think the main thing that spoils this is the fence in the FG. it immediately stops the eye moving further into the image.
the contrast between the light and dark is good and you did well to retain so much detail given the poor lighting conditions.
I don't think the fence is the problem as much as the focus and depth of field. The middle and distant objects are the most interesting but they are out of focus and the foreground railings are sharp!
No exif to know what settings were used but it would certainly benefit from a smaller aperture.
