Fast card readers

When I connect my camera to my desktop and download my photographs the download speed is quick. If i use my card reader for transferring files it is very slow. Can anybody recommend a fast card reader

The Sandisck range and Lexar pro range are both very good and quick - I'll have a look back in one of my mags as they did a test on a few card readers and cards

I've a Lexar uDMA dual (CF and SD reader.) Runs pretty fast, and certainly faster than a direct connection to the camera.

what connection you using?

usb1, usb2, if youre very lucky usb3, firewire 400 or 800

firewire will be better for sustained transfer speeds if you have the connection.

I use the Sandisk Firewire one, super fast and comes highly recommended!! The difference over USB is, obviously, superb.

Actually, when I tested half a dozen USB readers, the Tesco came second - beaten only by Lexar's UDMA reader. It beat two other, supposed, UDMA readers.
