Fast interior 360s

Looking for advice on people who do this regularly to find out what I need. Been asked to do this for a client and their properties - anyone care to list what kit I need to use/get to get the job done? I've got Pano2VR

Can you use a samyang 14mm for this, or something else?

Current kit list for interiors which would be of use is:

5D3
samyang 14mm
17-40
24-70
tripod ball head.

Guessing I need a pano head, yes or no?

I haven't done any for a little while.

I use a 40D with a Sigma 8mm
Nodal Ninja 3.

PTGUI
Pan2VR v3

Sometimes Photomatic or similar if I need HDR.

Ok - what I meant was, is that you're creating a whole 360 image from less than one image (after unwrap) So the camera's MP coverage is the limiting factor - surely a 360 made up of 4 or 8 22mp images is going to be better than one, less than 22mp image?

Yes, absolutely. But you didn't ask about "best" 360s, you asked about "fast" 360s.

Also, how many megapixels do you need? I'd have thought 22 was enough for most applications.

Yeh, I guess Stewart - would like to see how it works first as might do the job fine if I'm honest. Can't seem to find any examples outputted from a 5D3 online, they're all compacts and don't look that great

Depends how good you want them to be. With current kit you'll faff for ages trying to get the nodal point right (you can get close using a slidey rail of some kind in your ball head but if you just put the camera on the head you will get parallax errors). Cheapest good option is to buy a head and use your 16mm. I've not used a Panosaurus but friends have and they rate it for the money. At a guess without doing the maths I'd say you'll need about 8 shots for 360 + zenith & nadir. With an 8mm on an R10 you'll get by with 4 shots* and fudge the nadir so it will be a *lot* faster.

I couldn't possibly comment on what GTP system is.

* 4 in crop mode - assuming Canons can do this. You'll get plenty of detail with crop. More shots in FF mode, obvs. But then I've done 144 shot panos and they look pretty cool.

I want them to be as good as the stuff that I knock out now, so can offer it for future commercial marketing work (not fussed on GTP)

Yeh, I know I have to purchase a pano head (looking at all the NN models but which one?)

I don't mind some faff (I shoot landscape with filters for example) but would be great to say - right you need this & this, and set it up like this and bosh, done :)
