My friend was around earlier with his canon. I'm pretty sure it was a 350d maybe a 300d. I don't know my way around canon so couldn't work out if i was doing anything wrong, but when setting PASM i had to press the shutter twice to take a shot like it was set to bulb, but it wasn't i was getting shutter speeds around 1/200, shooting in Auto was fine. Was is on some weird setting or faulty?

It probably had mirror lock up set somewhere in the menus.

On the first button press the mirror lock up, on the second the shutter fires.

This is set within the custom functions on the camera

400D had this function so im guessing the earlier models would do also. I would agree with this.

I know the 350D had it, but I seem to remember 300D did not (It was hacked in by firmware). Although quite easy to tell a UK 300D as they are silver.

Oh thanks i didn't think of that! Nikon you only press the trigger once it moves the mirror up then fires. Seems weird to have to press it twice.

It's black so it's probs the 350d.
