Afternoon
I had the dreaded error 99 fault on my canon 40 D recently and sent it of to Colchester camera repair where the shutter was replaced and a service carried out for the not small sum of £177 and was returned after 3 weeks 'fixed'. in the 2 weeks after i noticed that my images were not sharp and always looked soft on which ever lens/situation i was shooting in. I returned to Colchester under their repair guarantee and also included 30 RAW photos showing the focus problem and asked them to take a look. They have said they have found an issue with an AF sensor and it will require a motherboard replacement.
My question is the cameras focus was perfect before the error 99 issue and I feel it is something they have induced from the repair. Also should this have not been picked up after the repair was complete and they were testing it. They offered to replace the board for £123 + VAT but not charge labour. I said no to this and have the camera back now but feel they should have offered to repair it free of charge..
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated
