I'm looking at a faulty Nikkor 28-70mm f2.8D lens via eBay, quite well priced due to these problems (detailed faults below). Any advice of who could possibly repair this lens would be greatly appreciated. Might it be too much hassle I wonder?
Thank you.
"This sought after Nikon AF-S zoom lens is in excellent cosmetic condition.
We have extensively tested and thoroughly checked this lens as we do with everything we sell.
The Autofocus is not working on the lens, it does not respond at all. Manual focus and zoom appear to work perfectly.
The aperture is jammed, although the aperture ring steps down as it should the aperture will not stop down when you turn the aperture ring and the aperture lever on the mount will not move. The aperture blades appear undamaged, clean and free from oil, there is no sign of any internal damage when looking through the optics. The lens appears undamaged so I suspect some sort or internal mechanical failure.
We have inspected the internal optics using the photo lamps as we are unable to look through the lens. The optics appear bright and perfectly clear, free from any scratches or damage. The internal optics appear in great condition, haze, dust and fungus free.
All the lens switches seem to work as they should. The mount and contacts show small signs of use. The lens caps are included with the original lens hood.
This is an expensive and sought after lens, it is honestly listed for repair and priced accordingly, we ask for no returns on this item. (Please note we do not do partial refunds) This is an AFS lens so works with ALL Nikon DSLR cameras (when repaired)"
