Yes
I've just upgraded from an 1100d to a 60d and will be looking to upgrade my lenses in the next 12 months.

I mostly shoot car shows/events and Motorsport so I've been tempted by the following:

Sigma 120-400mm
Canon ef 24-105mm

I currently have the basics.

Canon 18-55, 55-250, 50mm prime f1.8

I digress, what do you guys favour, what for and why??

For you: 100-400L.

For me 70-200 2.8 is ii.

Portraits: 85/1.8 or 100/2.8L
Landscape/general: 24-70L
Milky way and toilets (don't ask!): Samyang 14mm
wild creatures: I can only dream about some big long white fat L prime

I don't shoot your subjects

The wife has a Sigma 120-400 OS and I used it quite a bit with a 60D and it got me some fantastic shots. That was my backup kit for my 5D3 and Sigma 150-500 OS at airshows and similar events. I've also used the 24-105 extensively on all the bodies I've had since I got the lens, it was in a kit with a 5D2 but I've used it on a 60D, 7D's, 650D and a 5D2 & 3 and it was a consistant, very good performer on all of them.

IMO you can never have enough length so you might be better off with the Sigma 150-500 or even the 50-500 if you can afford it. I had a Canon 100-400 at the same time as the 150-500 and after a lot of testing I kept the Sigma and sold the Canon, the IQ is very similar but the Sigma has a better OS/IS system.

My most used lens is my Sigma 150-500 but probably my favourites are the Canon 100 f2.8L macro and the 70-200 f2.8L IS MkII, closely followed by my 50 f1.4 as they are all so sharp.

Ok, i have a very long story about lenses i have and lenses i am looking for, so i will try to shorten at as much as i can:

Landscapes/architecture/indoors/cityscape: 16-35L, 14mm, TS-E 24mm, sometimes 24-70L or 24-105L
Portraits: 24-70L, 70-200L, 50mm, 85mm, 135mm
Wildlife and birds and aviation: 800mm, 600mm, 500mm, 100-400mm
Sports including motors: 400mm, 300mm, 100-400, 70-200, Sigma 120-300
Macro: 100mm, 180mm, 150mm, 65mm 5x

What else i left?

Those the lenses i have or own for my Canon DSLRS:
18-55 old kit lens, Sigma 8mm fisheye and 12-24mm, Canon 50mm 1.8III and 1.4USM, 85 1.8USM, 135mm f2L, 300mm 2.8L IS mk1, 100mm macro, 15mm fisheye, 16-35L mk1, 24-70L mk1, 24-105L, 70-200 mk2, 100-400L, 10-22 no longer in use due to my FF/1.3x bodies and i don't use 1.6x bodies anymore and finally a lensbaby.

I hope i can add more to my list sooner or later.

Canon lens or Canon mount?

Canon lens: 70-200 f/2.8 IS
Sigma canon mount: Sigma 35mm f/1.4 :D

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (on Canon aps-c). Beautiful lens, perfect walkabout and city lens for me.

It much depends on your look/style you want. Personally I don't like to shoot cars/motor events with wide angles. I don't think I've EVER used my 17-40L for automotive. I like to stick to shallow DOF so 50/1.4 & 135L for me - Mainly because that's my only lenses :) I also don't often shoot a complete car too preferring to go for a corner/detail etc

In general I shoot 50mm followed by 135L for almost everything followed by 17-40L which is purely landscape/coastal.

Depends on what and where I am shooting.

Most used lens: Canon 100-400 for motor sport, urban wildlife, and any time I just want to reach in and grab things.

General purpose/walk around/landscapes - Canon 24-105 (on a full frame body)

Covering events (mostly indooor low light and no flash) Canon 35 f2, 85 f1.8 & 135 f2 on boith crop and full frame bodies.

Probably my favourite lens is the 135 f2 mainly becuse of the shallow DOF, IQ and super quick focussing.

For Motorsport, my 300 F4L IS or 70-200 F4L for when you don't need the reach.
