FD to EF mount adaptor recommendations?

Does anyone have any experience in adaptors to mount FD lenses on EF bodies? I've seen lots of conversion services but I still want my FD lenses to use when I shoot film.
Ideally I want a (cheap!) adaptor to mount FD on EF - and if it's even possible, the other way!

You'd need an adapter with a glass element to mount FD glass on an EOS body. This will act as a mild teleconverter and degrade image quality, sadly. This is due to differences in register distance between sensor and Lens.

A better bet would be an EOS-M or other mirrorless camera which will take FD lenses with a standard mechanical adapter.

The thing is that to convert FD to eos you'll need an adapter with a corrective lens in it to get focus to infinity which may not offer the best optical solution. Personally when using manual lenses on my Canon DSLR's I went for Olympus Zuiko but if you already have FD lenses I suppose you have what you have... and an adapter with a lens in it is your only way forward. I've never seen an eos to FD adapter but one thing to think about is how would you change the aperture?

The main reason I ask is I want to shoot IR film until I can get an IR digital camera but I only own a single FD 50mm 1.8 - ideally I wanted to use my EF 35mm f/2 instead.

The only FD lens I can get any decent shots with my 7D is the 100mm FD macro with the glass removed from the adapter, which is very good, in fact it's as good as my new Sigma 105 macro!

However, I can use all of my FD lenses on the EOS-M using an adapter.

to be honest, pretty much the only way to get an adaptor to use EF lenses on a FD body would be to get somewhere like SRB Griturn to make one for you... and it'd definitely cost more than purchasing something like a FD 28mm f2.8, FD35m f3.5 or similar from fleabay... (they go for around £20)
