FF review of tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC lens on photozone

conclusion

The Tamron AF 24-70mm f/2.8 SP Di USD VC is not a perfect lens - none really is - but regarding the sum of its qualities it is obviously the best standard zoom for Canon EOS at this stage - at least till the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM L II enters the scenes. However, in any case it will be very hard to beat from a price perspective

That doesn't look too bad. I will take it that the digital picture had a 'bad' copy. Hopefully they will come down in price.

I could be wrong, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a non-canon lens get the thumbs up from the digital picture.
