Hope they catch the scumbags and get all their gear back. If it were up to me the thieves would get hung up a flagpole by their toes until the birds were done pecking their eyes out!

Oh no! I passed there on Monday morning and Tuesday night and had to force myself not to go in for a browse.

Have you ever been burgled and had to deal / fight with insurances, let alone the whole disruption it causes to ones life be it business or personal.?

Wow that really sucks, hope they can recover most of it. Ffordes are my go-to guys when ordering film equipment, they've had consistently lower prices for the stuff I was looking at. Really great at packing stuff up too.

Absolutely unbelievable that someone can post this about a business premises being broken into! Insurance companies are always the winners and you always pay for your loss. Personally for such an offensive post I think consideration should be given to banning the membership of this person?

I have dealt with Ffordes on several occasions and they are brilliant IMO.

I agree - BAN THIS IDIOT

Ffordes are a superb outfit.

Insurers don't always win. I destroyed a M Monochrom that cost me £3,250 and my insurer paid me £5,500 as I had new for old insurance. They paid in 3 days, no questions asked, no police report, just proof of ownership and a photo of the accident and the destroyed camera.

A lot of that stuff is very new or new, given the 4... serial numbers.
Most stores display unboxed.

I would be suspicious of anything that is so new and unboxed.

Same for lenses sold without carry cases.
 
Wow that's one hell of a list.

Whilst it's obviously valuable it seems risky stealing Leica gear, surely much easier to trace and more difficult to filter out into normal channels? Unless it was stolen to order of course. A similar volume of Canon L gear would barely be noticeable on the likes of eBay as there is so much of it anyway.
 
They certainly knew what they were after, I wonder if stuff like this ends up overseas.

Re calls to ban the person who made the stupid comment: give the guy the opportunity to apologise for his remark and eat humble pie. I doubt he is really as dumb as the remark he made, hopefully it was made in a thoughtless moment. I'm sure people here are big enough to accept his apology?

I do hope that ffordes receive a prompt and full payout from their insurers; I also hope that they find people wishing to support their business with footfall and mail order to help get back on top line after this massive disruption.
 
I've used Ffordes both in person and mail order.

These are real suppliers, real enthusiasts. What camera shops should be.

I'm almost feeling I should pop across and buy something from them...

Given his posts in other threads (one in particular concerning homeless people which resulted in him going on my ignore list then) I doubt very much any such apology would be forthcoming.

Based on the responses to his posting in here, it's clear that folk do not approve with what he has had to say regarding ffordes, yet he hasn't even bothered, or had the decency to return and either attempt to defend his view nor to offer an apology…...In my eyes a complete !?!!??!!!......I won't say what I would like to on a public forum, I'm sure @holty can figure the !?!!??!!! for himself!!

I have been burgled 4 times at my home. Even if you are not in (I was for one) it is still scary and cannot simply be brushed off by an insurance claim. Even now, quite a few years later, my home is not my own. My sympathies to Ffordes and I hope they can catch the little s£i%s!
