I think it might have been all the positive vibes I was getting from here that made me rashly buy over the tinternet a second hand bit of kit.

Bad news - the 'mint-' monopod for £25 pounds was 'C**P'!!

I had also purchased a filter for the staggering sum of £15 quid which was in excellent nick as described.

What to do??

A telephone call was needed and the 'nice man' who answered (after 5:30pm)was v. helpful and suggested as I was nearby tommorrow perhaps I could drop in for a chat etc..

The look on his face when said C**P was produced told the story and his instant agreement with my assesment was gratifying.

So, the result.

One new monopod (v nice) + free strap for my lovely wifes tripod (v nice) and lens hood for my 85mm 1.8 (v nice) all for £9:99 (vv nice man)

From Manfrotto - Strap is £15:00
From my old supplier Hood is £20:00 ish.

I make that £25:00 off for my trouble. (VVV nice man)

All in all after a rubbish start a brilliant finish

Plus cracking little shop with tons of goodies to visit again soon!

Nice one. My tripod arrived from them yesterday. Luckily I had no such problems

I once bought a s/h lens from Ffordes. It was an L lens and my initial excitement made me overlook some of the markings on the barrel. Once home I had a proper look at the glass and was shocked by it's condition.

I went back to Ffordes and they took it back with no argument or cost to me.

Glad you enjoyed similarly good treatment.
