I have been having a few problems burning back up DVD's for my photo collection. I updated Nero 7 last night and the software for the DVD burner itself. The DVD drive did not recognise any DVD, but would recognise and burn CD's.

I borrowed a mates DVD drive and that worked ok, so have ordered a new one for myself.

After updating Nero (all 284MB) I've got a bit of a problem. I store a lot of my photo's as Tiff files and just used to double click them and PhotoShop would open them directly so I could work on them.
Since the Nero update, when I double click them they open in Nero, not PhotoShop as I want.

I've Gone through Nero to try to find a way to stop this, but there doesn't seem to be controls/preferences in there to disable Nero from opening them.

I've had alook through my PC to see if there is a way for TIFF's to only open in PhotoShop but can't find anything. It's got to be in here somewhere, File Association is what I think I need.
Anyone able to help or advise?

Why Nero can take charge of how my PC runs is beyond me. Is there a Freebie out there that can replace Nero? I only want a program to burn CD's and DVD's not watch TV etc.

Try this- right mouse click on a tiff file and from the list select open with from the list select PhotoShop and tick the option box which always use.

If ps is not in the option select browse and find the ps.exe file usually under c:/program files/.
 
If you want rid of Nero, try free Ashampoo.
