File format that preserves layers and is viewable across different software platforms

As title - what would I use fo that? I can do it no problem for local viewing as a .pspimage file, but will adobe products open it? I can open .psd files with multiple layers, but psp won't save a multilayer file only a merged file. :razz:

Suggestions?

Have you tried saving as TIFF? I'm pretty the format is capable of saving layered files.

Have you tried gimp on all platforms? It has a multi layer image format that should be consistent across them all.

Tiff doesn't do layers in PSP

.PSD file? Works wonders for me, save a .PSD file for every retouched photograph I do incase I wish to revisit the work later. Best wishes.
