Film camera kit lens to DSLR

can i use the kit lenses (24-80mm and 90-300mm) of my canon eos 3000 on a 600D?

Yup.

Eos lenses from the film days work on the new fangled digital DSLR's.

Remember that with APS-C DSLR's the sensor is smaller and therefore you have the x1.5 "crop" factor.

eg. 24-80mm on 35mm SLR = 36-120mm field of view on APS-C DSLR.

As above, except that the crop factor on EOS bodies (well, most of the EOS bodies that crop!) is 1.6x rather than 1.5x.
