im lookign to get a new dslr for general use but really lookgin to get into using it to make films, was lookign at the canon 7d or 5m mk2.

any suggestions or points for pros and cons of each?

Other than that it depends what you're videoing, the 7D's focus system is far better than the 5D's. However, the 5D is a full frame sensor and will yield better image quality, sharper, better colours and a larger dynamic range.

Unless you're videoing particularly fast moving subjects, i'd go for the 5D MK II.
