filter 58mm

I want a really good quality filter for 58mm as the £2 ebay ones I currently use seem to detract from image quality in my view, therefore I want to try one good filter before I make the switch to see if it really does make a difference.

Let me check my bag when I get home, I'm pretty sure I have a spare filter that you can try/keep to see if it makes any difference. (Not a Hoya btw but better than a £2 ebay jobbie).

Just ordered the 77mm Hoya Pro1 from Amazon/CameraKing yesterday - and it's in the post today! I bought the 72mm from them earlier this year and it's been brill so far so you can't go wrong really at that price.

For what lens?

85mm f/1.8 or 100mm macro probably deserve the Pro-1 filter, otherwise, the cheaper normal HMC version is more than enough. Lens IQ should come into consideration first.
