I am after some 58mm filters but not sure what i need to buy. I want to take landscape pics, architecture plus normal holiday / family pics etc.

I am not sure about Cokin filters that have the sqare filters as i think the round screw in filters would suit my needs at the mo, being more portable and quick to put on the lens.

Which ones would you suggest i need and i don't want to spend a lot at the mo. Thanks
 
Get a circular polariser and learn how to do HDR - better than using a grad to darken skies. And cheaper :)
 
It might be worth having a read of this article which explains what the different filter types actually do: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photographic_filter
Then you can decide whether you need any or not.

If you decide to get some ND grads, don't get the round versions as you'll be limiting your composition as the graduation point is fixed. The square filters allow you to adjust this.

As Hoopy says, the only filter you can't actually replicate in either PP or with a little bit of HDR is a CPL.
Whether you choose to go the filter or PP route for the rest will depend on if you prefer spending extra time behind the camera or in front of the computer.

The mods / admins on this forum. They have stopped me from using the for sale section and PM's!!!

I am not a trader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing i can do. I can't prove i am not a trader to them. Stumped! I have pleaded with them to see that i am not a trader etc but nothing. I am gutted. :thumbsdown:

Thanks! Soon as i get my Privilages back / PM's, Hopefully!! (:notworthy::notworthy: Mods) I will PM you mate as i want a CP Filter. It will be my first one ever after the UV i use!! :)
