Filter for Bright Sunshine

I recently went to Devon, and managed to get one good day of sunshine . I took some photographs using my 50mm prime and a 70-300 Sigma but have noticed that the areas in bright sunlight are really blown. I have taken some more since and in slightly less brigtness all seems much better.

I do not have any filter on the prime or sigma and would ask more experienced users if this would help in bright sunshine. On both lens I used A priority.

The only way is either take two shots, seperately exposed for the bright and dark areas then blend them in photoshop, or use graduated ND Filters. For this you will need some sort of slot in filter system like Kood, Cokin or Hitech.

You can also save some in Lightroom by shooting in RAW and using the graduated filter tool.
