Hi all,

I was wodnering if someone could advise me on a filter, i jsut purchased a 70-200mm and would like to buy a protective filter. What would be your recommendation? The size is 67mm. Thanks

amazon.co.uk/B+W Filter-67mm MRC B+W would be my recommendation... I have Nikon NC's on mine but thats cos they're Nikon lenses  (not that that matters) but I've had B+W in the past (currently own a B+W CPL 77mm) & they've done exactley what they spose to do - but dont get them from ebay thou - try that link for Amazon & get it from them

You are aware of the downsides of fitting a protection filter of any sort? Plenty of threads on this.

Then if you must, Hoya HD protector.

+1 for Hoya HD. This is what I got for my 18 - 135 lens which is also a 67mm thread.

Yeah I know that fitting a filter for protection is not ideal, but I always had filters on my lenses just to help keep the optics without scratches for longer.

Thanks for all your recommendations I will see now which one to buy. Thanks

Put the Huuuuge lens hood on from that lens and you wont ever scratch the optics.. Even if you do, it wont show up in the photos.

i could not afford Hoya HD and so use Hoya Pro-1 Protectors on my Canon A-1 lenses

and bought a Marumi DHG Protector for my Sigma 17-70.....67mm...''here''

I know ALL the reasons not to, but the Sigma has an exposed front glass and i 'feel' better using a protector

Its either Hoya HD or B+W for me.
