Yes
I was at a BBQ this evening for an end os season youth football team, i took the camera (as always) we were in an open field and the sun was beating down, 32c very hot cold beer hmmmmmm

anyway i was shooting at f11 1/250 with fill flash. most of my shots came out fine but was wondering would you have put a filter on and if so which one would you have used?

You need KIPAX to answer this probably, but IMHO no filter, and no flash as it probably wouldn't have helped much in this situation, but if you were losing light a higher ISO and wider aperture probably would have been better. f11 seems pretty small to me in this situation, a wider aperture woulld also help to blur the BG from the action and give a quicker shutter speed.

didn't have any trouble with over or under exposing, i was using fill flash as i had a very bright sky in the background, i have some of the shots on my website as some of the peeps wanted to purchase prints so heres some of what i got

It's just a general enquiry really as to whether a filter would give better results. Im new to fill flash (this was my first time)

Sorry, thought you were shooting the football action, which would have meant you were further away from the action and would have needed a higher shutter speed. The shots on the link looks fine and no filter required IMO.

You could have used ND filters to allow the aperture to opened up and get some shallower DOF going on, nut there's nothing wrong with them as they are really.
