Poking into adding a couple of filters to my gear. I have a 20d, like portraiture, landscape (mainly the beach) and some animal/insect stuff. I've seen Karl Taylor use slide in filters and he says they work best? Thinking I should be looking at ND, ND grad and a polariser.

Any knowledge/suggestions would really be appreciated. Many thanks in advanced. :)
 
I've used Cokin filters for ages, its better to go bigger (in Cokin that would be P series) as they work better with large lenses and wide angles.

There are sometimes bargains to be had on eBay for filters, I got a P series grad for around £4 a while ago.

Cokin P series are actually the smaller ones (not the smallest thats the a series) the z pro (the same size as lee filters) being the larger ones favoured by wideangle photographers but i find shooting 12mm and up with a wideangle p series adapter you should be fine. srb-gritium own brand p series filters get good reviews and are cheaper than cokin.

I was only comparing the 2 consumer models, as in the A series and P series, but as you say the Z Pro are also available but probably not what the avarage hobbyist would buy.
