Nigel, should have asked on the talk sport forum about this lens and its suitability for field sports, my money is on it being on the classifieds on Sunday, the AF speed is worse than woeful, absolute waste of money mate, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it really is an absolute slug of a lens for focus speed.

There was another tog at our match last year with one and he got great results on a 30d,I have a 40d.Anyhow 18 months ago I was getting some decent stuff with a 30 year old Canon 70-210 f4 so I expect good results from the Tamron but we shall see so watch this space.
