Find me a lens...

The 'Shoudl I buy a superzoom?' thread has set me searching for a lens (lenses?).

I have a 5D3 and a 60D and will most likely be adding a 70D later this year as my wife has decided that she quite likes the 60D. My lenses are a Canon 24-105, a Sigma 50-500, a Sigma 12-24 and a Sigma 18-250.

The 18-250's range is seriously useful as the cameras are used constantly when we're travelling and so it would be good if I could replicate that but with something better quality. Ideally, the new lens(es) (a single lens would be preferred) would be able to be used on both the full frame and crop bodies and would have a front element that didn't rotate.

Am I looking for something that doesn't exist? Do I need to win the lottery?

Canon 28-300L ? ;)
From what I've read the sigma 18-250 is one of the best options for a travel zoom though, if that is what you want I don't think any of the other travel zoom options is likely to be much better.

Cough, splutter - ~£2000! That's a lot on top of what I've spent already...

It looks as though I'll end up with that but I was hoping to get something that I could use on both bodies.

How about a Tamron 28-300VC ? Less than a quarter the price of the white one. Not that wide on the 60/70D though.
There doesn't seem to be much choice for FF Canon users as far as travel zoom type lenses are concerned.

I had a similar 28-300mm Sigma that was FF compatible. I thought that it made a good holiday and day out lens and TBH I wish I'd never sold it. The 28mm end isn't that wide on APS-C though but I don't think there's anything wider with the reach that's FF compatible.
