well iv been playing now i have the tripod and i have come to the conclusion
that there is a fault with it

there is no beep with i power on and no beep when you focus
and the focus point dose not go green when focused

i took a load of shots to day at diff settings and out of auto
and in auto

and all i got was blur so it looks like the camera is shot

this means im left with only my film cameras that iv not used up the film in yet

i dont have the cash to buy another my pc died on me other day iv had to format the HD

i dont know what im going to do now
 
Does the focus point stay yellow when you have focused? That means it can't focus. My young brother had one of these. Is the camera on mute? If nothing happens, there is a newer S5500 now on the classifieds.:)
 
I suggest you tap the lens hard, but be careful, something may have jolted out of place. Pull the lens gently, switching off and on frequently. With my brothers current S100FD, he gave it to my dad switched on and zoom out, and my dad, not realising it was electronic zoom, pushed it back in. disasaster when I switched it on, wouldn't zoom, and flashed yelow error. Tapped the lens, pulled in and jiggled and it went fine then.
 
Have heard of the tapping trick working before with the fujis, worth a try. Also ensure your batteries are fully charged. Maybwe covered by household insurance?
 
tried that it just wont have any of it tried diff settings the works

i really didnt need this right now
