Inspired by some of the recent shots here, I had a go...
Some clouds rolling in from the left ruined my subsequent shots so I had just this one usable.. But I'll be sure to get out there again when the nights are even darker
I went with the 30s exposure because a) it was there and easy to use (just dial it in) b) I wanted a shot with no star trails but exposed for the clouds & sea as well. I was using the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 so didn't want to have exposure times beyond 30s anyway.
The best thing about this shot is that it's from my own terrace at the summer cabin, so I can sit there and look at the view every weekend... Not that I could see all those stars with the naked eye But I can feel a 20cm dobson mounted telescope calling my name!
