Hi all,

I saw an advert in a photography magazine about a product called "FireFly Air Blower". Basically it's an air blower which has a device which does something with ionization to help dust blow off more easily.

The website for more info is here: http://www.nrdfirefly.com/

I'm just wondering if anyone has used it and if it's worth getting? I'm not too sure if it will do much more than a regular air blower. It seems awfully expensive.

Thanks.

It looks interesting but I imagine even with the static charge removed by the ionized air the dust still has to land somewhere. I'd guess this will do a better job of dislodging dust than a normal air blower though, as backed up by this :)

Some interesting info here:-

Don't know if that Firefly tool would be effective. It has been around a while and does not seem to have caught on over here.
The use of ionised air for dust removal seems to have industrial applications. $130 is quite a lot to spend without being sure of how effective the tool is.
