Morning,

I usually use Firefox, on my Vista laptop downstairs. I quite often find that I have to refresh pages to make them load as Firefox seems laggy at times. I opened up Windows Explorer last night, as it was doing my head in that much, and it was like a rocket in comparison.

Could my Firefox plug ins be slowing it down, or can anybody think why Firefox would be acting in this way?? It's certainly not making the best use of my 12Mb connection that's for sure!!! :(

In order to help it would be useful to know what a box mangle was :bonk:

I defected from Mozilla Firefox to Google Chrome, and recently tried to change back, to view/preview websites I design but I couldn't!

I don't care what anyone says, Chrome isn't half bad, give it a go :)

They were obviously slow in mangling terms, hence the phrase!! :D

chrisgeary, I tend to keep the cache clear anyway, but I do have Exif viewer and a couple of other plugins, which I'll disable tonight and see if things improve.

One way to speed up Firefox is to clear your history before a certain date. The mySQLite database that they use to power the (admittedly) Awesome bar is a bit slow.

Having said that, I just use Chrome unless I need a specific extension.

Hmm.. interesting this thread has appeared. I havn't installed anything lately on firefox but since a few updates in the last few days its ground to a near halt.
