Firing 5d2 with RC-6?

Bit confused. I used to be able to fire my 500d instantly using RC-6 on liveview mode and timer mode.

On 5d2, there's only 2-sec timer mode, and the RC-6 starts the movie on liveview

I use Liveview as quick Mirror Lock Up, and remote to reduce shake. Any ideas?

cheers

5D2 manual says you need RC-5 or RC-1 (which I use).

so with RC-1, does it fire instantly? what shooting mode do you put it on, 2sec timer?

thanks

Put it on remote/timer, fires instantly or 2 secs delay. Also works on B as a T setting - press once to open, press again to close  I use that for long exposures with a dark ND filter. Did you know that on B the frame counter counts the seconds? I discovered that by accident - very handy.

It has feeble range in daylight though. You need direct line or sight, which is not easy because the lens and hand grip get in the way. But it will fire under any conditions if you are right up close - like as close as you would have to be with a normal cable anyway. Brilliant little tool, and so cheap :)
