Hello there!

Ive just recived the 580 and 430 flashes through the post and im having some minor problems firing them with my skyports. Only the 580 has the pc socket that i can link up to my skyport. Ive turn on both of the slaves for each flash but can only get the 580 to fire when its on the ETTL mode and not Manual.

Is there something small and stupid im missing??

Cheers
Dave

Slave and master settings only work in E-TTL. Guns must be in manual, and fired either via pc socket or off the centre pin of the hot shoe, using an adapter if necessary. £10 from Jessops.

Edit: adapter as per Scott's link above. I see it's a little cheaper than Jessops :)

Thank you both,

Will the hot shoe adapter also work when mounted on a flash stand? Want to get both flashes off camera for a shoot on thursday. I bought one from jessops the other day but it didnt work, may have bought the wrong adapter though.

cheers again!
Dave

Yes, you can normally screw a 1/4 light stand into the bottom of one of these, or as they have a flash type fitting on them they will also fit onto a umbrella flask bracket
