Firm ware update help needed

I`ve just bought myself a canon 1d mk2 second hand and it won`t accept my sdhc card , i have been led to believe there`s a firmware update for this could someone explain in terms even an idiot could understand how i go about solving this problem, i believe i can use a compact flash card in the other slot

Not a Canon owner but you will probably have to delve into the cameras menu to set the card slots to what you want.

The issue seems to be the camera doesn't recognise the sdhc card and I don't yet have a comPact flash card so I have to use a firmware update which I have no idea how to do and need an idiots guide on how to

Yes thanks I did it this morning, I put the update on my flash card transferred it to the camera and sdhc card works ,thanks for the help greatly appreciated, Harvey
