Any comments/suggestions for improvement would be much appreciated :)
 
I like the idea:) However, needs to be just a bit more in focus to work methinks!
 
I think it is in focus, he just moved too much for the 1/15th sec image - see the obvious motion blur on his shoulder

Other than upping the shutter speed to capture it without blur, I think it's a good first attempt, though would be best cropped into 'Portrait' mode for me

reddeathdrinker I assume is referring to it being 'sharper' by the in-focus comment, and again I don't think it needs to be. So up the speed, capture it sharper and then add Gaussian Blur to get this effect better - try it with/without the eyes open too

reddeathdrinker - I did try it sharper but it just didn't look right.

DiddyDave - I think you are right, I'm going to try it again a little brighter and try not to move as much

I have tried it with the eyes open but it just looked to intense, I wanted it more mellow.
 
I like this style of shot. Is it just taken in a dark room, or is the best technique to have a black sheet hanging behind you?
 
It was taken in a Dark Room with a bright light on one side of my face.........
