First attempt at Macro!

Just got the sigma 105mm, it looks like its a new learning curve!
C+C appreciated.....

looks quite good, although I would like to see the focus on the yellow in the centre

Like the white on the dark greens and dark background.

Any PP work?

Not bad but yes, focus is a little odd. Perhaps a smaller aperture to get a little more depth of field would be nice too. This is the biggest issue in macro photography - getting more depth of field and critical focus.

A tweak of colour on the yellow, thats about it i think

Did you manually focus or auto focus?

DOF it not right looking at the two petals at 1 o’clock and 8 o’clock the front part of the petal is in focus but falls of to quick need to have been
1 a little back
2 stop down more to get deeper dof
good first try

Thanks gents, I appreciate the comments and helpfull advice
It was hand held and AF, it was a bit breezy and I just wanted SOMETHING from the lens, more patience is needed too, I think!

try manual focus... macro is mostly done in manual
