Hi, I am trying my hand at portraits, and this is one of my first attempts. I want to do more natural relaxed type child/family portraiture, so dragged my daughter outside:LOL:

Any help or advice is welcome ,thanks x

Few things...

I think it would look better in portrait format rather than landscape.

You've chopped off the top of her head (which annoys the crap out of me, but others like it :))

She doesnt look very comfortable, almost as if she is crouching down to fit in the frame.

Dont shoot her in front of a brick wall, get her in some wide open space, which will give you much better DOF

Sorry, guess I just dont know when to stop :p

Phew!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL:

I did purposely chop the top of her head off, but I know some people like it others don't;)

I liked the brick wall idea, maybe it didn't work:shrug:

Thanks for the feedback Betty x

You've got a lovely model there, so now you need a background from which she can stand out. I think the brick wall background is overused. I look forward to seeing more images of the young lady.
