Yes
Took my 400d to a local spot to try and catch some wildlife action.

Comments/critique/suggestions most welcome. (In fact, the reason I am posting them here :))

Couple taken with my Canon 50mm F1.8, but most with my Sigma 55-200mm F4-5.6.

By the look of these, I could really use a 300mm soon :)

1. This was taken before I realised my white balance was misadjusted. Still, I kinda liked the result

Thanks.

Not bad for your first attempt, 2,3 and 8 are quite nice shots, 8 would have been better from a different angle, and remember to get the focus on the eye. the others are a bit to busy for my liking (too many birds in the shot) The inflight shots are well taken but try to get them head on or from the side.
when you get a 300mm you'll want a 400mm and on it goes:D

Thanks for that. Exactly the kind of advice I am after.

Yeah, I suppose my positioning wasn't that great, but I was limited cause the other side of the water was locked behind a gate.

As for the number of birds, yeah it was quite busy. Tried to isolate the subject in the shot, but like I said, with my 200mm at full zoom, this was the best I could do.

I know what you mean about the lens, but with the price difference between 300 and 400, I am sure 300 will do for now :)
