First go at a "Dandelion"

Took this today, bit of an impromptu shot really, always wanted to try it, so I did, taken with a Canon 550D, Sigma 80-400mm Lens....I was out taking pics of birds and it was all I had on me.

Works for me, something a little outside the box, My only thought though is it a little noisy..?

I like it. Maybe some warming up (only slightly) and a little more contrast. Lovely DOF on the background, totally gone.

Good job for being a bit bored and fancying something out of your comfort zone with the kit you used. Was worth it.

EDIT: When I mean with the kit you used, I mean the Telephoto lens for a close-up.

I only had 70-200 with me, taken at the long end

It's generally regarded as poor etiquette to post your pictures in another's thread unless they're demonstrating a point or clarifying something the OP has asked about. The OP's image is demonstrably better however.

No worries....Thanks Chris, I was actually out on a bird shoot, and decided with a friends help, that I had always wanted to attempt this, this shot was taken with a canon 550d, 80-400m lens at 5.6 ISO 800...just a spur of the moment thing really.
