Fantastically stunning John. Nicely composed and sharp.
Looking at the harsh sunlight on the branch makes these shots even better.
 
Great pics indeed! Canon 1000D too... what lens at 500mm? Sigma?

Well done John on your first capture, corkers they are too :) Harsh light notwithstanding.
 
#2 is stunnning with 1000D. wish i had a 500mm :) make me want one now!
the brightness of the branches is a bit too much though :)

Very good, no2 is just needing that exposure on the branch bringing down a touch but still 2 great captures (y)
