hi all,
this is my first post so please be gental.
iv only just got into photography and got myself a sony A350 with a 18-55/55-200 and a 75-300mm lens.
i`m after a backpack to look after my gear and to carry it all when i go out and about.
id like something around the £50 mark that would hold the body with the 300mm lens attached plus the other bits.i`d also like it to have a tripod strap aswell.

any surgestions would be welcome

thanks chris.

Check out the "Lowepro mini trekker aw" for sale about £59...

Should fit your kit in and comes with a waterproof cover and tripod fixings...

My advice is to go and try them if possible..

Take some plastic bags filled with rice flour something like that to get an idea as to how they feel with weight in them.

Also buy bigger than you need. Saves changing when your kit grows.

Oh and welcome to TP:)

Another vote for the Minitrekker...will hold all the kit you mentioned with ease.

There's a EOS450 with kit lens and grip (not attached), EOS-3 with 28-105, 55-250, 50mm 1/1.8, small flash unit, a bunch of lens hoods etc, filters (inc a cokin p-type holder) a bunch of batteries and a couple of cable releases. Oh - and room for a bunch of rolls of film - they were in the fridge when I shot this

Big zipped pocket on the outside that you can stick your butties in, an attachment arrangement that'll happily hold one of the bigger redsnapper tripods securely, and a waterproof cover in the bottom that folds out when the weather turns inclement. Carrys pretty well, though the hipbelt is a bit useless if your over 5'8" as the rucsack is only short, and on me the belt hovers somewhere just under my ribs

And yet another vote for the Lowepro minitrekker AW. Its amazing how much gear I can cram into the little rascal!

One thing about Lowepro - in my experience their service (through Daymen here in the UK) is fantastic. I had a zipper fail on my larger PhotoTrekker AW a few years back. I'm not even sure it wasn't my fault for stuffing too much gear into it, but the company replaced it totally free of charge, with a newer, improved model pack (AW II). I was so impressed, and the quality is top notch.

I have a compudayback and find it not that well made (compared to other lowepro bags)- check out a primus. They were around £45.

Hi the Lowepro Micro trekker is worth a look if you want something slightly smaller, but the Mini Trekker is a very good

I've got a Tamrac Expedition 4 for camera only use (similar size to Lowepro MiniTrekker) and a Lowepro Primus for camera + use (has a large separate top compartment). The Primus (33.5W X 23.5D X 51H cm) is taller than the Tamrac 4 (31W x 24D x 36H cm) due to the top compartment.

Both bags fit my Canon with 70-200 lens attached plus additional lenses and various bits & bobs.
