Submitted my first four pictures to Alamy last night and am now sitting with fingers crossed hoping they pass their QC. It said after I upload that it should take 37 hours on average before I hear anything.
Are they pretty accurate with their estimate or does it take longer than that to get through QC?

Normally seems to be pretty accurate (I think they update that time if/when they expect it to be shorter or longer). The email system for notifying you they have passed seems a bit slow at the moment though, so might be worth checking the site every now and again :)
 
I did mine end of last week. I would say that the time was pretty accurate, taking out the weekend that fell in between.
 
If they had said 48 hours, I would expect a little latitude, but 37 hours is a little too precise to be a fudged number..;)
 
Excuse my ignorance but if they approve your images they go on the site and you get a cut of any sales?

Or do you get anything for having them approved?

The only thing you get from approval is a warm, fuzzy feeling that you can take a technically competent photo!
 
I had another batch of 9 passed today. Still havent got the email to say so, but got the email today from the batch 2 weeks ago :lol:
