Just picked up one of these. First try-out today.

Very sharp wide open at both ends. The OIS is excellent - this example is hand-held at 200mm (effectively 300mm) at 1/10 second!

Quick question please Phil

Do you think it makes the camera feel overly front heavy?

Cheers
Rich

No - seems fine on the X-Pro 1 but I do have a third party metal grip on mine which improves the balance on a heavier lens. I suspect it might be a bit front heavy on a lighter body.

Thanks Phil

I have a XE-1 and 18-55mm, suspect the larger/heavier lens it might over balance it a bit then

I tested it in the shop on a XE-1 - it was a little front heavy, but nothing I wouldn't live with - it is an exceptional zoom in my initial estimation.

Daresay its no different to the 70-200 f/4 I used on my 40D

In two minds about it,good to hear its of excellent quality, but primarily got the camera to travel light and wonder if I'm straying away from that idea
