thanks again for your comments, putting more than one on a thead is my next challenge
 
What settings did you use? Catching a nice bird in flight pic is my ultimate challenge, but I end up spending far to much time fiddling about with the camera, than trying to photograph the bird.
 
It was trial and error, took 191 images, and got 4 what I call good, as it was a show I only took my 55/250 is canon lens, normally I take static shots from a hide with a Sigma150/500 but I think now the 55/250 is was the best lens to use, that I have, as it seems to auto focus faster, the birds always came in close so I used RAW with multi shot, spot metering, auto ISO, my camera details show 1/1000th at 6.4f at a length of around 200, the ISO was an average of 200/300, as I say this was trial and error, some others may have better advise
