Would welcome critique - not convinced its very good at all but want to work with this.

Managed to get "her indoors" to pose for a quick snap! Had two flashes, Canon 580EX and 430EX linked via IR.

I think you did really well. Great balance of lighting! 580EX is next on my shopping list!
 
Well done a nice balanced shot, it is rather difficult to get the ladies to pose isnt it?:D
 
It is a good shot, and you have a similar selection to me. I would try to use the ratio and have one at half power and see the difference. Just experiment. Nothing wrong with your shot though, it's a good safe set up you've used
 
nice job, good lighting, especially for flash guns!
 
I like it! The depth of field is really well controlled - you have everything in focus that needs to be and the rest is rendered as a pleasant blur.
