First Wedding

I did my first wedding a couple of weeks ago. Interested in hearing feedback. Nowhere near perfect and a lot to learn from the experience but it's a start.

I'm no expert and I'm looking on my phone but most look OOF or very soft.

You are right Matt, they seem to be fuzzy with artefacts everywhere. They seem OK as far as candid shooting goes but everything is a bit too middle of frame for me.

Which ones are out of focus? Numbers 3, 7 and 8 were shot wide open.

Can you explain what you mean by artefacts everywhere? Can you be specific to which photos?

Appreciate your feedback. Anyone else have an opinion?

Everything looks really, really compressed. If you look at the woman in the red dress, the dress is badly pixelated.

I think the tree shots need better setup as the tree just looks like something in the background rather than something which is there to be part of the framing of the image.

Either have it dead centre perhaps or have it to the side of the subject as a left or right hand 'frame' to the photo.

Just my 2p.

When you mean compressed, are you talking about jpeg compression? All of these were taken in raw, adjusted in lightroom then exported to jpeg at 100% quality. What could have caused the over compression you are observing?

Agree with the framing. It was a nice setting which I could have done more with.

All in all I think they came out well, Id say the 4th image was a tad under and it would be nice if they were a bit higher res but still not bad for your first wedding

They are showing on my screen at about 1000px longest edge, I am guessing you are uploading them at full size so zenfolio would be resizing them and compressing the data. I would suggest you resize them to 1000px longest side and 72ppi before you upload.

I didn't think about the compression aspect when uploading them to Zenfolio. I'll bear that in mind.

Nice start, everything comes with experience.
I would like to draw your attention to the aperture settings.
Photos lack of focus on main event or people in frame.
