Fish-eye / Wide angle lenses (NIKON) Good brand for a good price??

Looking to get a wide angle - fish eye between 10mm - 20mm.

Seen a lot of brands out there like Tokina and Samyang.. But read some bad things about them .

Are these really that bad a lens?

What would be a good compromise? Sigma??

Because I am not sure I cash afford Nikon own lenses.
 
I use a Sigma 8mm fisheye on FF (which gives a circular image) and crop (which chops a little off the top and bottom of each image) as well as a Sigma 12-24 UWA. Both are AF on all my Nikon SLRs. In an ideal world where money was absolutely no consideration, I might go for the Nikkor 14-24 instead of the Sigma but this is real life so I'll stick with what I have! IIRC, the Samyangs are quite good but MF only but I have no personal experience of them or the Tokina range.
 
In my experience there isn't a huge amount of difference in image quality between the nikon 10.5 and the tokina fish eye zoom. Sharpness is pretty much equal but the tokina can be prone to a bit of chromatic aberration. Can't comment on the samyang.

Just be sure you want a fish eye as it's quite easy to overdo the effect. Mine is for underwater use but on land I'd get far more use out of a regular wide angle lens
 
I have the 8mm Samyang, very happy with it for the price. Although, I'm not sure I need a fisheye in my camera bag. The shot below is the best I've got out of it.
