If I want AF am I looking at just the Sony 16mm lens? It's the only one I've seen on WEX etc, but wasn't sure if there was a legacy Minolta alternative.

For MF does anyone have any experience of other brands that are decent?

I only really want one to play around with so will probably end up with a MF one to keep the costs down as the Sony one is a bit pricey

Thanks in advance

Matt

Ha same here, finally can realise the potential of my minolta lens collection!

Just checked Dyxum and yep I think its just the sony and Minolta 16's for FF

What other lenses you after?

I want the Sigma 85 1.4 and I'm half tempted by the Sony 24-70 as well (have the 16-50 for my A77 so used to the range, but the price is a bit steep), at the minute I've only got the 50mm Zeiss and the Sigma 105 2.8 so could def do with something wider than 50. Had a look at the 35mm Art but I've got an RX1R I could in theory use for 35mm, so now might give the 24mm Art a go instead depending on price.

The fisheye was just a nice to have really as i've never used one but like the images I've seen others get with them, probably need to cover off the old focal lengths I had at APS-C first (or just carry them both around all the time :) )

And at some point in the future I wouldn't mind getting a 70-300 again as I had the DT version when I got my first A350 and really liked it, I don't really miss that lens now though so that's definitely at the end of the list just in case I find a v cheap G knocking around!!

Do Samyang make an A mount version of their 8mm? IIRC that would be MF and manual aperture. Do Sigma do their 8mm in A mount? That would be auto both!

I would favour an older Minolta 85, the 'G' in particular is close to perfection. I have the Zeiss 50 and its lovely but nothing makes me want to 'downgrade' my minolta 85 to the Zeiss version!

I do have the Zeiss 24-70 but am not passionate about it. The Minolta 28 F2 and 35 F2 are very good but not cheap.

There is also the Sigma AF 15/2.8 fisheye, though the Sony version is a simple re-brand of the Minolta, though unless it has improved lens coatings it's identical, though the Minolta should be cheaper.
