Hi Everyone.
Im a plumber after some advice as to which new camera / lens set-up to buy for work use. Hope you can help.
My Fuji F7000 with Opteka 0.22 fisheye lens has finally died (dropping cameras on building sites definitely shortens their life!). It was a budget set-up by all accounts but it served me extremely well for many years. I used it for interior shots of bathrooms and exterior building photos where the modern garden size means you cant get more than 20 feet from the subject. I did have to zoom-in to lose the round shape of the shot so Im not really sure what the field of view worked out to be, but at a guess Id say at least 120 degrees.
Im now looking for a replacement set-up but I would really like a compact sized camera this time. It seems that the widest lens I can get in a compact is 24mm but there is no reference to the field of view on these cameras? I understand that the micro four-thirds is the new standard for having interchangeable lenses at this size but I cant find any compatible budget (£50 Opteka on ebay or similar) fisheye lenses that I wont cry over if I drop them into a water tank. There seems to be a few budget micro four thirds cameras available if I can find an adapter for a cheap fisheye lens.
Having tried to look into all the options myself (and become very confused in the process), I thought Id ask the pros. Just after something to get the job done.
