Hey guys.

What's the cheapest fisheye lens available?
Just having a search around, but thought you may be able to help!!

Got about £200 to play with.........

check amazon.com and B&K and check reviews of people.

Mind u this lens apperently comes in 4 or 5 different names and brands so u would pretty much be reading about the same lens. Opteka has it too
 
Probably something like a used Sigma 8mm or a Tokina 10-17mm - might need to up the budget by £60-80 for those. Those Samyang lenses seem to get good reviews if you can handle MF.

:agree: The Tokina is a cracking wee lens, be warned though, the novelty of a fisheye can wear off pretty quickly.....

Yep - I have £400 worth of novelty lying in my rucksack that hasn't been used for a while :D

OP, using an actual fisheye lens is totally different to 'faking' it in software - software can reproduce quite genuine looking images but with an actual fisheye, you're generally having a much closer working distance so do tend to find you look at shots a bit differently to those taken with standard wide-angle lenses.

I got the Nikon 10.5mm and it is amazing but it's so easy to overuse it and lose the sense of achievement you should have when using them sparingly. As said, you get used to a very different shooting style and with the exaggerated perspective, you can create some amazing things from the mundane. Most suffer from crazy flare because of the domed front element that really can add to a shot.
 
I really want the Samyang myself and I've read very good things about it online. Only thing that holds me back is if the novelty wears off and I dont end up using it.
 
I fancied one of these but decided to test the water with a cheapo adapter lens and I'm glad I did as the novelty soon wore off, so I never bought the lens.
 
my mate has the peleng and uses it with 35mm and aps-c its a quality lens, really clear, abit too much flare but overall really good
