...am I right in thinking they can be used to trigger my camera remotely? How? Canon 5D FYI.

Yep, receiver on the camera hotshoe and trigger in your hand.

:)

^^^

Plus the camera trigger cable that FITP can supply for a couple of quid. It's actually illustrated in camera trigger mode on his ad here - somewhat confusingly I think.

plug the cable in sit the trigger on the hotshoe (it doesn't connect its just a good place to not fall from) then trigger it with the bit that should be on the hotshoe

I like to keep you on your toes :naughty:

The cables are FREE - some sellers remove them (plus all the batteries etc) and then charge extra for them :suspect:

Actually, if anyone who has bought their 602s from me has changed cameras or needs a spare then they are available for the cost of the postage :)

Hmm, can't get this working... HELP!

I have the receiver on my camera hotshoe with a cable plugged in the back that then has the other end connected to the remote cable socket on my 5D. Turn everything on, ensure the camera can get a focus lock, and hold 'sender' in tuther hand. Press the 'sender' top button and nothing happens.

The receiver flashes red as normal when sat on the camera, the 'sender' goes green when I lightly press and the receiver goes green. Then when I fully press both go to solid red... but the shutter doesn't open! :(

Anyone got any ideas?

I've come across one or two instances of the remote function not triggering the camera, which is why I advertise them purely as flash triggers. Most likely it's a duff cable though, if you want another one (or two) to try drop me a pm

thats exactly what mine does, but it trips the shutter when the light goes red :S

new cable sounds like a good idea

Cheers for the confirmation David (and the offer Flash)... a wee bit of wiggling seems to have sorted the issue and I have it working now. Sounds like it might be a dodgy cable. I'll see how it goes. :)
