fixation or canon for repairs?

i have a poorly 35mm 1.4 which took a nose dive out of my bag and now needs repair (won't focus in either mf or af). had a quote from fixation for about £250 plus vat which is painful but i don't see what other option i have.

Are they the best best with repairs in terms of price and service? i can't imagine canon being cheaper but wanted to see who people use for repairs etc?

I've always found Fixation to be good, fast, economical and very decent people to deal with. You might save a few quid elsewhere but these guys are a known quantity and won't let you down. Most of the (Canon) pros I know in London use them.

Why not try Canon at Elstree, seemed fine when I used them and have heard others commending them

Fixation are good, I used them once to fix my dad's bust up 50D, they weren't cheap but they did a thorough job for sure!

Canon have my 7d at the moment, they were about £50 i think cheaper than anywhere else. There turnaround is currently 10-15 days (spoke to them today) unless you have CPS membership.

Canon forget fixation there hit and miss in my opinion

Have had some major stuff done - ne mirror box, new hotshoe, regripping - and fixation have always been my first port of call. Turnaround obviously depends on their workload at the time, but they've always been quick for me (up to seven days door to door).
