Fixing a bent CF card pin

I went to get my old 20D out a few months ago and couldn’t get the CF card in without error and then after some more trying I couldn’t get it in at all….

On closer inspection tonight it seems my suspicions are correct - it looks like a bent pin (photo only taken with my phone and focused on that brown pot to try and get a similar plain of focus)

Anyone got any suggestions for fixing? I know I could buy one for £35 on MPB but as this is my original ans favorite DSLR I wanted to try and fix

Poking around inside with a magnifying glass and set of tweezers hadn’t really helped and I can’t dislodge it and straighten it

It’s the far left top pin as you look at the image

In a similar situation, I found that a dissecting needle could be used to gently work the pin back into place. This sort of thing is good because you can insert any needle that will fit the chuck...

don't mess with it. I got one (sd card) stuck it the camera slot and had to send camera away to get fixed. Insurance would not pay huge arguement why they should. Eventually I had to have a complete new circuit board fitted at my expense
 
Thanks, It won't be a warrenty issue as the camera is 22 years old! Its more what can I do try and dislodge it. I tried with modelling tweezers last night but I may try the pin trick as per Andrew's suggestion above
 
You should be able to straighten it if you're careful, I've managed to do it a few times in the past.

If you're successful, my advice would then be to leave a card in the camera permanently and use the USB lead to d/l your pictures. It will be slower obviously, but you'll never straighten the pin a second time.

This ^ but be very careful, its very easy to 'snap' pins if they are straightened too quickly.

I would also leave a card in position and download via USB

Since a 20D is worth very little it is worth attempting a DIY repair. If it does all go badly, then an 'upgrade to a 40D would be good move, as its a peach of an Canon x0D camera and has the benefit of live view.
