Hi,

Interested in gettin some flash gels for my Nikon sb910 but I am new to the idea I heard some melt to the flash...

Anyway some say honl are very good but I see lee filters too but whats usually the best for everything incl price, practicality, easy to use, well made etc

Thanks

Do what photogs have been doing for years, no need for some fancy plastic holder.

2 Velcro dots stuck to your flash, and small strips of gel with a Velcro dot on each end. Simple.

Www.flashgels.co.UK do neat kits.

I use the honl speed strap system as I can add gels, grids, snoots without changing mounting systems.

yeah, speedstrap is a way to stop having to stick velcro dots to your flash permanently. Kinda neat, though their accessories are overpriced imo.

I was lucky enough to get a good price on the complete kit, so I have the gel kits, grids, bounce cards and snoots :D , I totally agree its a big outlay for what seems a minimal return, but the kit is well made and has so far lasted really well.

I have 1 red fell that went a little wrinkly because I installed it a bit too tightly on a speed lite and gave it some real hammer. I still works though :D

I used to do this as well until I had to replace a flash and forgot to put the velcro dots onto it and then I was on a shoot and needed to use gels one day.

Elastic bands!! They can hold anything onto the front of the flash!! Below was with elastic bands and 4 gels - straw, cto, ctb and tungsten!!

yeah, bit of insu/gaff tape works in a pinch too :) wilkos do the dots for about £3 for 50 of each side.

The double sided velcro straps can be bought on ebay for a couple of quid, then it's just a case of cutting to length. Flashgels.co.uk also does it but slightly more expensive.
